Shainoor Ali

Vice Principal Grades 6-9

Bio

Shainoor Ali has been an educator for over ten years, specializing in reading, writing and working closely with students that have learning disabilities. Over the last ten years, Shainoor has made a positive impact on the educational community and shared many of her valuable insights through a variety of channels. She lead the humanities department at her former school, developed a writing program for struggling writers, developed a remediation course for struggling readers, and has presented to staff on a number of topics including how to execute writing conferences, working with children that have dyslexia, and how to promote mindfulness in the classroom.

Calgary born and raised, Shainoor attended the University of Alberta where she obtained her Bachelor of Education with a focus in English and Biology. She has a certificate in Montessori education, has volunteered as a teacher and education board advisor for the Ismaili community, and is also a Bollywood singer. Shainoor and her husband are proud parents of a two-year-old daughter named Sophia Jasmine.

Shainoor is excited for the coming year at Tanbridge Academy. She will be working with grade 6,7 and 8 students in Language Arts while also supporting Linda Choy as a Vice Principal. Shainoor’s greatest joy is watching students grow, flourish and become passionate about learning. This year, her professional development will focus on how to promote a growth mindset community.
